Upcoming Events in 2006


1. Defence Technology Asia 2006 International Conferences & Exhibition

24th & 25th May 2006

Shangri-la Hotel, Singapore

Defence Technology Asia 2006 (DTA 2006) International Conference & Exhibition, is the 4th in its series. DTA’s focus is the Asian environment with special focus on the South East Asian region.

RADM Ronnie Tay, Chief of Navy, Republic of Singapore Navy, will grace the event as Guest-of-Honour and will deliver the Opening Keynote Address.

The Event will host the following Conferences and Exhibition

- Submarine & ASW Asia 2006

- Naval Surface Ships Asia 2006

- AUVs in the Littoral – Seminar/Workshop

The theme of the conferences is “CHALLENGES IN THE LITTORAL ENVIRONMENT”.

The conferences will discuss concepts that address these challenges, operational aspects and systems that provide the tactical edge in a challenging environment.

The event is expected to bring together Chief of Navies or their Representatives from the Region, specifically India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. We also envisage other distinguished keynote speakers from the Ministry of Defence of France, United Kingdom, Thailand, Malaysia, India and the United States Navy.

It will also provide an avenue for you to meet with key personnel from the Navies in Singapore and the Region. Networking events planned, will allow all participants to discuss and exchange ideas in an informal and relaxed environment.

Autonomous Unmanned Vehicle (AUV) Seminar – Naval Applications

This seminar will provide an opportunity to explore research and development opportunities and technical advances for autonomous and semi-autonomous surface and undersea vehicle systems. It will examine the technology requirements and operational capabilities of robotic vehicle programs for military and ocean research and monitoring, and ocean commercial and exploration applications. The seminar brings together customers, users, developers, and technologists to discuss requirements, challenges, and approaches for advanced robotic and remotely operated vehicles.

Exhibition

The exhibition will revolve around the Conference theme and is expected to host more than 45 exhibitors from around the world. The event will have exhibitors presenting technologies and systems that revolve around the Event theme and the AUV seminar.

Deadlines for Submissions of Abstracts/Papers

December 15, 2005 - Closing date for submission of Abstracts / Outlines

March 15, 2006 - Closing date for submission of Final Papers

April 06, 2006 - Notification of selected Conference Papers
